Wagyu is a breed of cattle and literally translates to "Japanese beef", where wa means “Japanese” and gyū means "beef". Once exclusive to Japan, today Wagyu cattle are being bred and raised right here in Australia. The ultra-marbled, ultra-delicious Wagyu beef has become a favourite across the globe and once you try it, it’s not hard to see why!
It’s pretty simple! Wagyu primal cuts (normally topsides or flats) are sliced to size, marinated for up to 24 hours in a flavour packed blend of natural ingredients, and then dried. That’s all there is to it!
How does more flavourful, tender and juicy sound? This is due to the high level of intramuscular fat cells, otherwise known as ‘marbling’, that develops in Wagyu cattle. But there’s good news – this fat is monounsaturated fat (the good kind!). It means that Wagyu actually has the lowest cholesterol levels of all meat (including fish and chicken!). What’s not to love?!
All of our Wagyu Beef is 100% Australian and sourced from MSA accredited producers across the country.
Our Jerky has a 6-month shelf life and once opened we recommend storing it in an airtight container and consuming it within 3 days…or in under 5 minutes if you’re like us.
